I have been working as a data engineer for just over two years. During this time I worked on developing proprietary image processing software, object detection and localization models, ML pipelines, and geospatial map analysis. My background is in Astrophysics where my work consisted of research (exploring the literature, proposal writing, and publishing work), observing and modeling (collecting data and creating analytical or numerical models), and predictions (calculations based on data and models) that help us interpret, discover, and communicate about the mechanisms driving our observations. I specifically worked with high-resolution stellar spectra which consisted of target selection, data cleaning, data analysis, and some software development. I mostly work with Python 3 and Jupyter Notebooks to do anything from parsing a text file and image processing to constructing an automated measurement pipeline or building ML models. I use common Python libraries like numpy, matplotlib, pandas, and scipy and have exposure to machine learning suites like scikit-learn and PyTorch.
