I was offered an exciting opportunity to join Tropic on a HR Placement Year to help support the company in a period of high growth. Reporting to the Talent Acquisition & HR Projects Partner, I was responsible for actively sourcing candidates for all mid and senior level roles up to VP level, conducting technician interviews, managing the onboarding process and HRIS administration.ROLE HIGHLIGHTS:• Achieved the support of the Senior Management Team for a strategic change in recruiting laboratory technicians to address turnover issues. • Identified an opportunity to improve our candidate sourcing methods by using a LinkedIn Recruiter licence and presenting a proposal to management. When implemented, the change resulted in a 64% decrease in recruitment costs vs 2022.• Directly sourced and placed the new VP Intellectual Property & Singapore Site Director saving the business over £70k versus the previously established method. • Reviewed, communicated and launched a new sickness policy that resulted in a 32% reduction in absence.• Designed and implemented the Tropic Degree Apprenticeship scheme in collaboration with key stakeholders.• Designed and launched a volunteering program to deliver Tropic’s social responsibility goal of delivering 700 voluntary hours to the local community.
