As I often say, "Pressure makes diamonds.” This quote encapsulates my belief in the power of challenges to bring out our best. Throughout my career, I've learned that diamonds aren't just formed under pressure – they're showcased in the spotlight, and as a professional, with a passion for turning challenges into opportunities, my expertise in cultural competence, communications, and project management has allowed me to shine in dynamic roles. My journey spans 15 years as an entrepreneur, during which I've had the privilege of working on a diverse spectrum of projects. From orchestrating global tours for world-class DJs to crafting campaign assets for gubernatorial candidates, I've thrived on the excitement of each venture. Notably, I've successfully pitched a livestream event series, securing $1.5 million in funding. But it's not just about business for me. One of my greatest strengths is understanding Neo-Urban Millennial and Gen Z culture and crafting communications and messaging that deeply resonate with these audiences. Cultural competence isn't just a skill but a core value I hold dear, making me adept at multicultural communications. I'm dedicated to building inclusive communities, promoting cultural sharing, creating safe spaces, and facilitating joy through impactful experiences and leadership. My career goal is to work on exciting projects that empower me to think innovatively, build systems and solutions, and create memorable experiences for the audiences I engage with. I'm driven by the belief that innovation is the cornerstone of progress and that forging meaningful connections with audiences is at the heart of successful events.I'm passionate about teamwork, developing future leaders, and firmly believe in the equation: Curiosity + Creativity = Imagination.Beyond my professional life, I maintain a healthy work-life balance, dedicating time to personal wellness and cherishing moments with my family. I love flying The Fathership! And as a dedicated father, I'm committed to guiding and nurturing the next generation. It's been exciting to bring my unique experiences and perspective to work alongside Pennsylvania State Representative Ben Waxman who shares my commitment to innovation and forward-thinking engagement. I'm a strategic thinker with a creative edge, track record of leadership, and commitment to driving results. Let's connect and explore how we can work together to achieve our goals.

Constituent Services AdvisorState Rep. Ben Waxman May 2023 - PresentPhiladelphia, Pennsylvania, United StatesIn the realm of politics, my journey with PA State Rep. Ben Waxman began when he was campaigning for the 182nd District. After a few fundraisers and insightful conversations, a meaningful connection formed. As the Nightlife Committee Chair of the Arts & Culture Task Force, Rep. Waxman and I explored the potential of the Night Time Economy Director position in one of Philly's social hotspots.Later on, I received an email inviting me to bring my expertise to his office. Despite my one-year background in politics, he saw value in my mastery of event planning with a cultural touch. Now, as the go-to Constituent Services Advisor, I orchestrate inquiries seamlessly using digital tools like SharePoint and Microsoft 365, ensuring our political engine runs smoothly.Beyond administrative tasks, I represent the district at events, fostering connections with condo boards, political counterparts, local businesses, non-profits, NGOs and civic associations. District-wide events are not merely gatherings; they're experiences that enhance Rep. Waxman’s profile and strengthen our ties with the community. Turning constituent engagement into an art form, I contribute to a positive public image and build lasting community relationships.Every day on this political journey presents an opportunity to innovate, connect, and transform.

Founding PartnerGl Agency Sep 2016 - PresentPhiladelphia, Pennsylvania, United StatesAfter years of curating and producing events, working with national brands, and cultivating relationships with world-class artists and DJs, I expanded on my vision for what I felt was missing in the Philadelphia ecosystem and evolved GL Productions into GL Agency. "We grow ourselves by growing our clients." Our core belief is creating experiences as the foundation of integrated marketing activities to drive brand growth. One of my passions lies in connecting with what I like to call "Neo-Urban" Millennial and Gen Z audiences. Although the term "urban" was long used to describe African-American inner-city dwellers, we recognized early on that Millennials were changing the demographics of cities as many chose to seek out urban environments in search of experiences, culture, and top prospect job opportunities. Understanding their cultural nuances and preferences has been the key to our success in reaching them effectively.Perhaps one of my most exciting projects was developing a livestream event series, which secured a whopping $1.5 million in financial support. And one project that truly stood out was planning, developing, and executing Philadelphia's inaugural ancillary business pitch competition and cannabis education conference. It was more than just a conference; it was a way to build bridges and partnerships, resulting in over $15,000 in support from event sponsors, making the weekend-long event free and open to the public. After having the incredible opportunity to lead and shape our agency's communications strategies for almost a decade, it's time to expand myself, get out of my comfort zone and reach for new heights. GL Agency has been an exciting journey marked by significant accomplishments, and something that I'm genuinely very proud of.

Partner, Experiential ProducerFriends & Fam (Fnf) Apr 2015 - Dec 2019Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United StatesMy journey at Friends & Fam (FNF) was thrilling, to say the least. More than a job, it was a passion project that allowed me to dive deep into the world of connecting with people in creative and memorable ways. Our tag lines were #LetsMakeSomeMemories and #TheThemeIsYou!FNF is where I truly got to exercise my four pillars: creating safer spaces, building community, sharing culture and facilitating joy. All things I had been doing for years, but it wasn't until the energy and excitement of FNF that I saw myself connecting with people in a more purposeful way. Everyone on our team was handpicked based on their strengths and brought so much creativity to our organization. It's no wonder that we were consistently able to increase our annual revenue by 25-30% year after year. We weren't just in it for the short term; we were about sustained growth and making an impact. Our experiential marketing strategies were the backbone of our success, and our events had become more than just gatherings. Thanks to innovative touches like signage, projections, and photo booths, we created opportunities for engagement and interaction, making the attendee experience unforgettable. We explored unique approaches like brand ambassador and influencer marketing programs and always made it a point to understand what resonated with our audience. Everything we executed was delivered with finesse. We expanded to NYC and Miami, appearing at festival events during Art Basel, Winter Music Conference and Miami Music Week with an average attendance of 2000-5000 sweaty partygoers. And during my final year with FNF, we secured over $40k in brand partnerships. In my career, I don't know if there has been a more rewarding feeling than witnessing DJ Jazzy Jeff spin records in front of 800 people in his hometown of Philly and watching everyone have the time of their life.

FounderGl Productions Nov 2008 - Sep 2016Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United StatesI've been a club kid my entire life. I had my own soundtrack, and every opportunity I got to be on a dance floor ignited something in me that is almost indescribable. It's kind of like the freedom people express when they feel like they're flying. There are no boundaries, and if you close your eyes there are no people. It's just you and the music. I was fortunate enough that during my tenure working in hospitality and nightlife I got hooked up with a couple DJs who would introduce me to New York City, and that experience changed everything for me. I wanted to create that same culture and atmosphere in Philly. And I'm not talking about the VIP bottle service with the velvet rope. I'm talking about come as you are, sweating on the dance floor, hands in the air, everyone knows the lyrics to their favorite song and is not shy about singing loud and out of key. So one day, I got together with a friend. We made up some flyers and threw a party. 60 people came out and we made $300 bucks. That's how it started. How it ended? My time as the Founder of GL Productions was all about creating experiences that people remember. I'm proud to have produced and promoted over 400 events, with an average of 500 attendees per event, and annual gross ticket sales exceeding $275K.We weren't just about hosting events; we were about creating culturally impactful experiences, and focusing on what we call "safer-space" events. It was all about inclusivity and connection.Collaborating with artists and DJs was a key part of my role. We coordinated concurrent event campaigns across venues, with a remarkable 90% artist satisfaction rate and a 20% multi-venue event revenue rise. We ultimately extended our event marketing services to brands, connecting them with the Philadelphia, New York, and Washington, D.C. markets. We were all about making connections. And those connections paid off big-time.

Startup Team Launch Member, Experiential Account ManagerVisualeyz Mar 2013 - Apr 2015New York, New York, United StatesWay before remote work became a thing, Google had just launched Hangout as a cross-platform instant messaging and video conferencing service to compete with the likes of Skype and Zoom. And this is where my journey began in the Big Apple...right from my home office in Philadelphia.I was invited to join the launch team of Visualeyz, a digital media agency and experiential content startup, because I was already friends with the founders and had been tapping them for years to help me innovate my event marketing capabilities at GL Productions. They were 2 tech nerds and a creative director, and I was the guy always asking them to do something they had never done before. (Like, how can we put an Instagram feed on the big screen???)Proud to say, I played a pivotal role as part of the launch team, and within the first quarter we saw a significant increase in client acquisition, a promising beginning. We were all about harnessing the power of Web 2.0 technology – it was all the rage back then – to create engaging experiential marketing campaigns, and our innovative experiential marketing strategies focused on direct calls-to-action at events. This is the experience that really opened my eyes to the power of event marketing. We saw increases in audience engagement, brand visibility, audience interaction, and brand touch-points. It wasn't just about exposure; it was about making a lasting impact.
