Studying the effect of near-infrared light treatment in 6-week wheel-running mice. This project will be at Wellman Center for Photomedicine at Massachusetts General Hospital in the laboratory of Dr. Rox Anderson under the supervision of Dr. Joshua Tam and postdoctoral fellow Dr. Nashwa Cheema.

The Education Policy directors are committed to student advocacy on municipal, state, and national policies related to various educational issues. Our duties include writing official policy papers declaring students' positions on various legislative issues, revising the Students' Rights and Responsibilities handbook, preparing and presenting testimonies to local legislative bodies, and organizing forums and other events where students can give their input.

The Minority Scholars Program is a student led, student based, and student driven program, aimed at closing the opportunity gap. As a team, we work to improve academic achievement, raise student voices, develop leaders, enhance cultural capital and sense of belonging, and community outreach. These aims and initiatives, and all other MSP efforts, are aimed at positively changing the various school cultures such that success and achievement are no longer predictable by race, class, ethnicity and/or gender.

Selected from a competitive pool of over 2,300 applicants across the globe. I took a project course on Biomedical Signal Processing & Modeling and a core course on Scientific Writing. I will be mentored by MIT faculty and researchers throughout the 6-month MOSTEC Program. MOSTEC serves to develop a cohort of students who are equipped to major successfully in technical disciplines. Students are supported by a staff of positive, enthusiastic, and like-minded role models with experience in science and engineering.

The Young Leaders Summit is a highly selective five-day college empowerment conference for a diverse cohort of high achieving first-generation students giving us practical tools to apply to top universities, have full access to scholarship and financial aid opportunities, & set a course for academic and career success.

The STEM & Leaf Corps is a non-profit corporation in the State of Texas. Under the guidance of Tingzeng Wang and William Kariampuzha, I researched and studied various amino acids such as cysteine. We then used these amino acids to further support our initial research on cancer therapy treatments, specifically immunotherapy, and how different amino acids played a role in the progression of cancer.

Focused on the areas of technology, mobile apps, patient engagement, disparities, and data science in health care. Alongside a group of other interns, we worked together to augment Yale's current electronic medical record (EMR) portal, MyChart, to increase pediatric engagement within clinical trials. Changes included: utilization of visual images, translations to prevent language barriers, a chat bot to assist users, and concise language that did not include technical jargon to be easily read.

The Black Male Teachers College is a program for high school students who are interested in or plan tobecome a teacher. The program also targets Black male high school students who have not consideredbecoming a teacher but are willing to learn more about the profession. The Black Male Teachers College program consisted of workshops, programs, and activities that focused on strategies to help us succeed in high school and college, what it means to be Black, a man, and male teacher, explore and examine Black history and culture, college preparation (e.g., finding scholarships, applying for college and financial aid), career preparation (e.g., creating/refining resumes and cover letters), financial literacy, and entrepreneurship. Through this program, I actively supported and advocated for Black male students and teachers in both personal and professional lives.
