Serve as second in command and acting chief including a six month assignment. Conduct/manage all Internal Affairs investigations. Manage training and accreditation process. Write and update policy. Liaison with municipal, county, and state agencies. Manage Detective Bureau including case tracking, identifying crime trends, developing crime reduction strategies. Manage public education programs including: DARE, Danger Stranger, Identity Theft, Community Domestic Violence Awareness; Manage maintenance of buildings and grounds. Oversee operating budget of approximately $200,000 including purchase approvals. Direct Records Bureau, serve as the official Custodian of Records, and insure regulatory compliance. Currently acting as Emergency Management Coordinator.Accomplishments include establishing first Career Development Program which resulted in planned development of employees and increased skill level throughout the department. Created a cost free training partnership with Wyeth Pharmaceuticals to develop employee skills in the department. Established town's first Victim's Week activities which provided community education to reduce incidents of Domestic Violence. Initiated first Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) to increase emergency services. CERT Team training became model for other agencies. Created an Intern program for high school and college students to develop talent pool of future hires. Developed a new Dispatcher Hiring process to identify highly qualified candidates. Hiring Process has been implemented by other municipalities.Patrol Lieutenant 2002Monitored all personnel productivity, payroll and scheduling. Served as Public Information Officer and wrote press releases. Served as Deputy Emergency Management Coordinator. Key author and implementer of the 2002 Emergency Operating Plan for the Township of Chatham.

Supervised investigations by managing evidence and property functions.,. Developed Firearms Brochure answering questions and providing information to the public. Streamlined the firearms procedure to eliminate delays and improve service.

Supervised 911 call center. Provided training and performance management/improvement for staff. Used excellent split second judgment in life threatening situations with results that protected other officer and citizens.

Investigated crimes and performed crime prevention activities. Organized largest National Night Out event in Chatham Township. Over forty law enforcement agencies were involved with over 1,000 people attending. Solved the largest burglary recorded in the department with national implications. Named to Advisory Panel for the Morris County Child Advocacy Center. Helped develop policies and processes to improve child abuse investigations.Co-developed proposal and plans to computerize the police department and established the Technology Committee saving time and money for department. Helped negotiate, the donation of approximately $100,000 in computer equipment.
