RotaCare is a volunteer run clinic that accepts patients without medical insurance. It provides health care and medications for the needy of Long Island.Translate for Spanish-speaking patients with our English-speaking nurses, pharmacists and physicians. Help out in the front desk with appointments, referrals and other tasks that must be completed. As of July 2014, I am in charge of the WISH Clinic in partnership with StonyBrook Medical School and Winthrop University Medical Center

Specializing in Mathematics and Sciences, I tutor students in middle and high school in the Queens, and Western Nassau section of New York.

The JUMP (Johns Hopkins Underrepresented in Medical Professions) program promotes access and a pathway to career success for students coming from populations underrepresented* in medicine and the health professions.  The JUMP initiative is a collaborative and comprehensive partnership among offices and student organizations at the Homewood campus of Johns Hopkins and the School of Medicine. The program focuses on the first two years of the University experience, including successful academic transition, sound academic decision-making, integration into the social community, recognition and use of support structures, and encouragement of involvement in meaningful experiences outside of the classroom.  Through academic support, mentoring and networking, both at Homewood, the School of Medicine, and URM professionals in the Baltimore healthcare community, JUMP facilitates and promotes positive learning environments for JUMP students. 

*Underrepresented populations refer to ethnic and racial minorities, first generation and low-income college students.The Office of Pre-Professional Programs and Advising and the Office of Multicultural Affairs work closely together to support the academic and career interests of multicultural students at Johns Hopkins pursuing careers in healthcare and medicine. There are two Diversity Interns, one supporting the Johns Hopkins Office of Pre-Professional Programs and Advising and Office of Multicultural Affairs, and one supporting the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine’s Office for Student Diversity. The open Diversity Intern position will provide direct support to the Office of Pre-Professional Programs and Advising and the Office of Multicultural Affairs in sharing information, opportunities, and national programs in support of URM students in science and medicine. The two Diversity Interns will also work closely together to provide leadership to the JUMP program.

As campus representative for Apple at Johns Hopkins, my job was to introduce students to Mac and iPad, show them how to make the most of these products towards education, provide a connection to repairs and other services that Apple offers.

A few hours a week, I would interpret spanish between patients and physicians.
