The Wild Geese perform staged readings of the works of James Joyce, W.B. Yeats, and other Irish writers. As dramaturg, I have adapted all of Joyce's "Ulysses" for staged readings since 2004. I have also directed or co-directed many of these readings.

I have served multiple one-year officer roles in my Toastmasters club as Secretary, Treasurer, VP Membership, President, Immediate Past President, VP Public Relations, and VP Education, while also being the club's Webmaster throughout. I have also earned Toastmasters' Advanced Communicator Bronze and Advanced Leader Bronze awards. I was an Area Director for Toastmasters in Seattle in 2018–2019.

Initial developer at startup. I architected and implemented a collection of web services for MetaBrite's Android and iOS receipt processing SDKs (and before that, Cookbrite's Android and iOS cooking apps), using AWS ElasticBeanstalk, ECS, Python, PostgreSQL, SQLAlchemy, Celery, Elasticsearch, Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes. Worked on performance, scalability, dev ops, stability, quality, continuous integration, and deployment.

NWCPP is a group of professional developers and hobbyists living and working in the Pacific Northwest who meet monthly to discuss trends, techniques, and technology regarding the C++ language and industry. I have been the featured presenter at NWCPP a couple of times. In addition, I was the webmaster and I was responsible for most of the publicity.

Cozi builds applications to simplify family life: shared calendars, journals, meal plans, shopping, todos, and more. I worked on most of it at one point or another, with particular emphasis on the REST web services used by the web and mobile clients. I worked on quality, performance, automated testing, the web client, MVP architecture, deployment, continuous integration, debugging, PDF printing, database sharding, security, iCalendar, CMS, batch processing, recruiting, mentoring, and developer education. I architected and implemented such features as reminders, iCalendar feeds, metering, #whatsfordinner, meal plans, and a website framework.

I worked on the Marriage Hero dashboard, which helped volunteers to phonebank, fundraise, track their engagement, and otherwise work towards victory on the Referendum 74 campaign for equal marriage in Washington state.

I was part of the small technical team that worked to preserve Washington state's domestic partnership law, which was subjected to a referendum in 2009. We built a website to coordinate efforts and a statewide social media campaign. I built a web application that overlaid our banners onto photos, which our supporters uploaded to Facebook and Twitter as their profile photos.
