• I work on a range of high end art and photography books, exhibition catalogues, scientific journals and ‘Kew’ Magazine.
• Manage the Production of Kew Publishing, reporting to the Head of Publishing on budgets, timescales, new and ongoing projects.
• Contribute to annual and strategic business planning, providing estimated budgets for production spend, on yearly, monthly and individual project basis, monitoring and reporting on actual spend.
• Manage the in house production team, and maintain excellent communications with internal and external authors and suppliers, to ensure good stakeholder relationships.
• Manage the production of Kew Magazine, liaising with internal Kew staff and external suppliers including printers, repro and mailing houses, to ensure high quality and timely and accurate delivery to members and.
• Project manage all new titles from handover to print, according to agreed timescales and budgets, to a high quality and in accordance with house style, liaising and negotiating with suppliers, freelancers and project.

• Manage the production of manuscripts from handover to production, to agreed timescales and budgets.
• Line manage the Operations Coordinator, preparing annual appraisals, objective setting, and development plans.
• Create and manage budgets for all new titles and reprints, negotiating prices with all suppliers to ensure the project keeps to agreed cost.
• Manage and maintain relationships with authors, designers, project editors and proofreaders.
• Manage relationships with suppliers, consistently negotiating costs and time frames.
• Manage stock levels and checking stock value of all of our titles on a monthly basis.

Managed the production and distribution of a range of paper and online products.Completed profit margin spreadsheets for new titles at each landmark stage of the production process. Ensured that our costs stayed within the budget. Continuously looked at ways to reduce costs, including building and maintaining good relationships with suppliers ensuring we.

Managed the stock level of textbooks and Toolkits. Managed the production of textbook and Toolkit reprints, including costs and profit margin spreadsheets.Generated invoices, dealt with finance queries, monitored Publishing house sales and reconciled all end of month sales.

In this role I worked across all areas of the Publishing department assisting the Marketing, Commissioning and Operations teams, giving me a great understanding of the publishing process as a whole.

I travelled around Asia visiting many countries including Japan, China, Sri Lanka, India, Malaysia, Cambodia and Borneo.
