Since joining Matrix Ryan has been involved with coordinating and implementing environmental monitoring and remediation projects, including soil and groundwater monitoring programs at pipeline stations in Northern Ontario, and writing technical reports detailing the site conditions. Ryan has also been involved with On-Site and Excess Soil Management Regulations (O. Reg 406/19) projects in Ontario, helping clients manage their excess soil by creating sampling and analysis plans and soil characterization reports. Clients have included TC Energy, Cenovus Energy, and Ontario Transit Group.Responsibilities include:• Reviewing assessment of past uses reports to create environmental sampling and analysis plans for the excess soil generated from excavations associated with the construction of Ontario Line South subway stations throughout downtown Toronto. This work includes the selection of chemical parameters to test for in the environmental soil samples, where on site to sample from, and by what means (borehole/test pit/hand auger/etc).• Coordinating and implementing the sampling program including scheduling staff, scheduling contractors (drill rigs), ordering supplies from the laboratory, and conducting field work • Reviewing laboratory results of the environmental soil sampes and writing soil characterization reports for the purpose of determining which type of soil reuse site is appropriate to receive the excess soil, as per O. Reg 406/19

Conducted geotechnical drilling investigations to characterize subsurface soil, rock and groundwater conditions as they would relate to at-grade, tunnel, and station construction of the proposed subway lines. With Wood/WSP designated as the constructor on this project, responsibilities included the supervision and coordination of various sub-contractors and the safe implementation of all on site activities including utility locates, fencing construction, protection to public, hydrovacing (daylighting), drilling, and site restoration.Conducted hydrogeology work including well development, environmental water sampling, slug testing, and creation of hydrographs.Use of Trimble survey equipment to survey borehole locationsJoint Health and Safety Committee Member

• As the prime contractor and supervisor on Calgary’s Green Line LRT project I wasresponsible for the coordination and safe implementation of all on site activities including utilitylocates, fencing construction, protection to public, concrete coring, hydrovacing, drilling, andsite restoration.
