I also needed someone who could prioritize because I was going to give them way more work than one person could handle. Gerald fulfilled every hope and dream I had for the position in his first 6 months working at Caktus. Gerald is that person who can make themself at home on any team, start a few conversations, and before you know it, he’s transformed the team’s process from the inside out without ruffling any feathers. Having this clutch person who can go on any team, work with anyone, and perform well on any project is a boon to any manager. Gerald is also self-driven, loves to learn new things, and strives to constantly grow. For example: I mentioned to Gerald that my goals for 2018 were to have QA learn an automation tool and have automated tests running on at least one project. Within the week, Gerald had Selenium up and running and was writing test cases. Similarly, we discussed the idea of pursuing testing certifications, and Gerald jumped eagerly into ISTQB and is now a certified tester at the foundation level. Gerald is a valued member of our QA team at Caktus, and I hope to continue working with him for many years to come. "
