Grateful to be working for the National Community Reinvestment Coalition, one of the most important and successful efforts to create grass roots economic change in America. Working with the organizing and membership staff and reinvestment leaders around the county to develop new constituencies and new strategies for reinvestment from financial institutions. This is part of a larger framework of addressing disparities of wealth based on race and geography. Creating an organizing support process for housing and workforce development. Looking to expand the focus of the Community Reinvestment Act to creating a public benefit for communities from Companies that have received almost immeasurable public support from government and addressing the problems of communities as well as the amount and shape of reinvestment. Finding ways to connect the regulatory process with public and private investment to create change.Organizing philosophy is "Do no harm". Respect and start with the organizing dynamics that organizers and leaders have already created, however minimal and build out capacity as they define it for themselves. Encourage metropolitan, state, regional and national collaborations. Teach folks to think strategically and be aware of the consequences of their actions. Particular commitment to the development of minority organizers. Concerned about the lack of mentorship and competitive salaries for all organizers.History of working with churches and community organizations around education and restorative justice/peace circles with emphasis on reallocating resources away form courts, prisons and probation to restorative justice hubs.Much of my career had focused on how narrative and spirituality lead to commitments to organizing, building learning teams as the basis of organizing and creating movements for social change.
