Equity Residential Properties, Scottsdale, AZ VP Western Regional Accounting Controller• Responsible for Development Accounting for all regions and responsible for Operations Accounting for the Western Division.• Responsible for 40 employees and all facets of the operational accounting for approximately 300 apartment complexes comprising approximately 75,000 units. • During our software conversion and because of economies of scale it was decided to centralize Operations Accounting to Augusta, GA. VP Construction/Development Controller • Successfully transferred to Development Department within Equity Residential through the merger of Equity Residential with Evans Withycombe Residential. • Assisted in the implementation of the Development Department for Equity Residential with development capabilities of up to $750 Million Dollars annually throughout the United States. (This work is completed through Joint Ventures, Earn-Out and Self Performed formats.) • Established internal controls and departmental procedures• Developed job costing reporting.• Coordinated audits of sales tax, insurance and internal audits of projects/partners. • Reconciled job costs to general ledger on a monthly basis. • Designed and implemented a monthly job cost reporting package, monthly variance reporting package, and monthly management reporting package. • Assisted in developing and maintaining a quarterly development package.• Due to the centralizing of Operations Accounting to Augusta, GA and the location of the current EVP of Development, accounting responsibilities were transferred to Equity Residential’s home office in Chicago.

Construction/Development Accounting Manager • Maintained operational and managerial control of all accounting functions related to the construction, development, and accounts payable areas for Evans Withycombe Residential. • Evans Withycombe Residential, Inc. (EWR) developed and built approximately $50 to $120 million a year in new and rehab construction. • The property management payable department was responsible for approximately $30 million in payables annually.Achievements• Created job cost reporting, which is timely, accurate and used by departments.• Helped bring information services out to the users on both reporting and input.• Developed new variance reports, which are both readable and reliable.• Responsible for millions in payables on a monthly basis.• Set-up Audit of outside projects to insure adherence to contracts, policies and procedures for several types of construction deals including the privatization process @ Ft Lewis in Washington.• Successfully transferred the operations accounting department of over 300 properties to the accounting center in Augusta, GA.
