Led the development, integration and deployment of the Canadian Forces Health Information System (CFHIS). The system integrated several COTS application, and delivered them to the end users thru Citrix XenApp. Researched various applications and architectures to develop a high available and scalable solution. The system was developed and Piloted in Ottawa, and successfully transition to the Defence Enterprise Service Centre at CFB Borden. Designed and implemented VMware and PowerVM Virtualized environments

Prepared Software Requirements Specifications for Graphical User Interface for various Sonar systems. Developed a prototype GUI in Java and the production system is being developed in X-windows and Motif. Artisan Real Time Studio was used to capture the design using UML. Supported the embedded development team by coding and unit testing modules written in C++ for the OSE operating system. Maintenance and demonstration of the previous generation Intruder Detection System, running on a DEC Alpha Server and Sun workstation.

Performed software integration of an Intelligence and Electronic Warfare (EW) system. The system was comprised of three application systems: ASAS – a distributed information fusion system, client/server architecture, 3M lines source; TCAS – a distributed sensor information management system, 200K lines of C++, supplied by a sub-contractor; and TCSP – a COTS message communication processor. Integrated application together with a customized message interface, diagnostics packages, counter-measures applications and custom GPS applications. System software included Oracle DBMS, Applixware, Transarc DCE, TEM/GIS, Solaris, X/Motif and Tcl/Tk. Networking included TCP/IP, UDP/IP and Ethernet over copper and fibre using Cisco routers and switches. The software development environment included a range of C, C++, Ada and Fortran compilers, UIM/X, Rational Purify, DDTS and Rose. Prepared program document including Software Development Files, Software Design Description, Software Test Description, Software Test Report, Software Version Document and Software Product Specification. Supported the system and hardware engineering teams in system integration and test.

Developed operational support system software for the telecommunications industry using Remedy ARS. The Remedy environment provided a front end to various databases, and enforced business and workflow rules. Base modules were prepared, and then customized for individual clients. Developed an internal Problem Report Management System and Trouble Ticket system for Eftia’s Customer Care.

Responsible for the integration of 3rd party software with Fulcrum's core searching and indexing engine, on Solaris and Windows NT. Support for Visual Basic/Visual C++ development, which includes code stabilization and minor feature enhancements. Act as a resource for Customer Support

Designed, automate and maintain test procedures, and verify Fulcrum software against functional specifications and requirements. Analyse and report test results during software integration and stabilization, providing an independent perspective on release readiness. Software was tested on Windows NT and Sun Solaris platforms and tests programs were written in Java.

Performed subsystem and system integration testing of the Bruce ‘A’ Digital Control Computer system. Software was tested on 3 platforms; SSCI 890, Motorola Single Board Computer (MVME 162) and Sun SPARC 10’s. Software was developed in C and C++ for the MVME and Sun stations, and Assembler for the SSCI. Prepared test scripts for an Ontario Hydro developed I/O Emulation System for testing the DCC system. Test results were analyzed, and errors were traced to the root problem. Variances were raised on deficiencies, and the development team implemented patches. Work related to the installation and commissioning of the Safety System Monitoring Computer (SSMC). Designed and implemented an ACCESS database, which contained information of the systems inputs and outputs.

Designed and developed Nuclear Applications software for the Open Architecture Distributed Control System (OADCS), which was used to monitor plant process and safety systems for the Krško Nuclear Power Plant. Software was written in Watcom FORTRAN on a DOS platform, and linked with modules written in Watcom ‘C’ under the QNX real time operating system. Designed and configured displays for the man machine interface. Prepared Software Requirements Specifications and Factory Acceptance Tests procedures while at the Fredericton office. While at site, prepared and performed commissioning test procedures, and produced reports that analyzed the success or failures of those tests. Maintained detailed records of system failures, resolutions developed, and forwarded them to the design office for integration with the system design.
