About Gerald Crawford
I never dreamed I would have the opportunity to provide my best skill, and perform my favorite job again. Running, and Programming CMM's and assisting Machine Operators to correct discrepant hardware and make permanent changes to prevent future defects. It had been over ten years since I had sat at a CMM of any kind. Zeiss had improved it's Calypso software but I was familiar enough to get straight to work. My biggest learning curve came with the Vast XXT Scanning Head. It took the better part of a year for me to prove the scanning speed accuracy and reliability, without disrupting the manufacturing flow. Additionally and no less importantly I jumped right on to the Mitutoyo CMM equipped with "CMM Manager" Software and a PH10 head. I had never seen or used the Software or the PH10 head before. It took me less than a day to be off and running on the "Old Reliable Cast Iron", retrofit Mitutoyo. Updating programs that had been left to rot for years.I am very happy in this job and my employer is quite pleased with my work.Specialties: Continuous Process Improvement.CMM Programming.Material Review Board QA and Preliminary Review Authority.
Listed skills include Quality Improvement, Cmm Programming, Cmm, Zeiss, and 15 others.
