My knowledge and skills are truly unique, with a wealth of knowledge of the following technologies and businesses. My career started in the internal combustion engines industry, designing and building racing car engines and vehicles. Then around 1990 a change of heart and emphasis led me into a career in Renewable Energy such as Hydrogen, Fuel Cells, Electrolysers, Batteries, Electrical Machines, EVs, Automotive design and development practices, product and business development, as well as identifying and growing leading edge businesses.I am an optimistic, energetic and innovative person. This theme can be traced throughout my career, where I have always chosen the entrepreneurial route establishing new companies, exploring and developing technology markets and acting as a catalyst to bring fruitful partnerships together.I am known to be loyal, hardworking with a highly developed can-do/hands-on dynamic approach to the tasks in hand. This has lead to notable successes, particularly when involved in building and motivating work teams to focus on and achieve immediate goals and outcomes, often with limited resources. Motorsport and its demands on team work gave me cross-over skills and opportunities in the fields of Automotive Engineering and later on in my career in the Renewable Energy sector. Professional skills:My range of technical automotive/engineering skills were acquired in the Motorsport industry, and they are best applied to helping bring new and R & D based projects to market and making them a commercial reality. I have introduced and implemented systems that bring near-term technical innovations to the manufacturing floor, always using gateway principles to ensure commercial focus in my previous company Automotive Consultants. This has been the theme in the Renewable sector too, where I established and ran successful businesses such as AFC Energy and Fuel Cell Systems.
