I am a Data Protection Officer with 5 years' experience in the field of Data Protection, and 8 years' experience as a qualified teacher, during which time I was lead for a range of subject areas. In all of these roles, I have supported the development, implementation and monitoring of policy and strategies across the organisations. I have a passion for supporting and developing Data Protection compliance within organisations as I see it as integral to ensuring the efficient and effective governance of any team. I believe that governance should support in generating employee buy-in while enabling individuals to feel they will be able to achieve what is asked of them. Individuals and teams should feel confident in asking for advice and support if required. Effective governance will also ensure that individuals and departments are treated fairly while still holding individuals and teams accountable for their performance and compliance. Effective governance will also endeavour to identify and implement compliant and effective solutions to challenging problems.I consider myself to be a strong motivator of others and am experienced with supporting individuals and teams across all levels of an organisation to support compliance. I have designed, led on and analysed audits in order to identify underperforming aspects or departments, developing and implementing actions to support individuals, teams or the organisation as necessary.I pride myself on my strong sense of equality and apply this to all activities involving the support or review of colleague performance.
