Upon joining the company, I was placed in charge of Scoot's Australian routes (SIN to SYD/OOL/PER/MEL). Thereafter in Sep 2015, I accepted a change in portfolio and managed the North Asian 5th freedom markets (SIN-TPE-NRT/SIN-TPE-ICN/SIN-TPE-CTS). I have also coordinated the sales launches of SIN-MEL in Dec 2014 and SIN-TPE-CTS in Apr 2016. This involved managing regulatory timelines and ensuring system setups were in place, in addition to proposing the fare structure for published and group fares. My day-to-day tasks include managing the airline's seat inventory and ensuring fares remained competitive without compromising on yields. I will also offer my insight and forecast of the market situation on a frequent basis, as well as assist in determining the budget revenue and pax load factors for the financial year ahead. I am no stranger to sales performance reports as I provide these analysis daily/weekly for the consumption of various parties both internally (Scoot Commercial) and externally (SIA board and tourism bodies). To ensure the efficacy of our marketing campaigns, I have also initiated a weekly review of Scoot's on-going promotional activities to understand consumer purchasing behavior from a revenue management point of view (popular travel months, preferred fare product, top contributing point of sales etc). On top of that, I am well-versed in the reservations system being used by Scoot. I have been involved in the systems set up of various projects including the interlines with Tigerair, Nok and Virgin Australia as well as FIM arrangements with various local carriers. My forte lies in my ability to connect the dots on how the different modules in the Navitaire New Skies suite (SkyFare, SkyUtilities, SkySchedule and SkySpeed) as well as airRM complement each other. I enjoy the learning opportunities available at Scoot as it deepens my understanding of the aviation industry from the front line to the back end.

I conducted in-depth research on the countries that I wanted to visit before embarking on the 10-week long trip. Based on the information from Wikipedia, Wikitravel, TripAdvisor and Lonely Planet, I crafted a detailed itinerary listing which attractions that I wanted to see, how much they cost, how to get there and took careful note of the closing times and if they had any dress code requirements so that I could pack appropriately.Despite all that planning, I was still subject to many hiccups along the way - bus timings were no longer what was listed on Lonely Planet, fare prices have doubled (sometimes, tripled) and unforeseen delays caused me to push my plans back a day or two. These experiences taught me to keep my impatience in check and be fluid in adjusting my itinerary.I was also thrown into situations where I had to think on my feet and make snap decisions so that I wouldn't miss a bus or be stranded at a city without an accommodation for the night. I trusted people more and made quick friends out of fellow travelers whom I sometimes became roommates or travel buddies with. Most of all, I was independent. I solved problems that I created, lived down what I couldn't change and was in control of all other things. This cultivated me as a person as much as what my four years working cultivated me as an employee.

I managed insurance products from the conceptualization stage to its launch and thereafter provided support throughout its shelf life. At the beginning, I would participate in product launch work groups and product focus groups to brainstorm innovative ideas that would make the product the industry's first. Once the product idea has materialized and garnered support from the top management, I would work with the respective stakeholders (Actuarial Product and Pricing, Reinsurers, Claims, Legal, Customer Service, Customer Marketing etc) to ensure smooth delivery of the product with little to no hiccups. I developed product information packs for circulation to internal staff and insurance agents to aid them in their understanding of the product. Post launch, I would gather feedback received from customers, internal staff and insurance agents and compiled them for future reference.Part of my job scope included keeping abreast of the actions taken by our industry competitors. I would analyze new products in the market and perform benchmarks against our own products to ensure competitiveness.

I priced traditional and non-traditional life insurance products according to specifications brainstormed by the Product Development team and in line with internal and external regulatory guidelines. I conducted sensitivity tests to ensure the product would be resilient against any unforeseen circumstances. Prior to the launch, I would compile the results and supporting documents for filing to the internal (regional HQ) and external regulatory bodies (MAS and/or CPF). Aside from number crunching, I was the coordinator for the product summaries and policy contracts. I circulated these documents for stakeholders to review and performed amendments based on the comments to produce a final product that was fit for print. Other ad-hoc duties include the handling of special quotation requests for cheaper premiums or policy term extension, the troubleshooting of product-related issues and technical support for discontinued products.

I assisted library patrons with the borrowing and renewal of library materials. I processed returned materials for immediate shelving and set aside damaged books for repair.Other responsibilities include tending to patrons who have general enquiries by referring them to the appropriate library staff or directing them to the correct section of the library.

I shelved returned library materials promptly and in the correct order according to the Library of Congress Classification Schedules. I performed periodical weeding of the shelves and ensured books were not out of place to facilitate easier browsing.Through the course of my work, I have identified shelving areas that were disorderly and proactively neatened them whenever I could. If the problem was more severe, e.g. category A books were overflowing into category C's space, I would alert my supervisor and we would brainstorm ways to solve the issue.

I rang up sales transactions on the cash register and received payment in the form of cash, check, credit cards, vouchers, or automatic debits and sometimes even a combination of payment modes such as cash and check. At the beginning of every shift, I would count the money in the cash drawers and ensured there was an adequate amount of loose change. I performed another round of counting and tallying after closing and recorded the final sales amount. I assisted customers in the store and over the phone. I would take down their reservation requests, hunt down the items that they wanted and resolve other general enquiries that they may have.When there is little to no action at the register line, I would tidy up the store and re-stock the shelves. I was also tasked with stock checks in the back room and inventory management whenever a new shipment of goods came in.
