My father’s philosophy of “never more, never less but just enough” was always in my mind as I started my career as an industrial engineer trying to make mines more energy and water efficient by reducing waste and improving operational efficiencies. Sometime during my career, the KPI shifted from energy efficiency to carbon reduction as the world became more conscious of the impact of unabated climate change. I have been part of the dss+ team for almost a year now and not a day goes by without being impressed by the deep subject matter expertise and how this is put into practice at the frontline to operationalise sustainability strategies.
