Gerhard is the Road and Civil Team Lead for Aurecon in Perth, Western Australia. He has 20 years of post-graduate experience in the delivery of civil infrastructure projects. His experience covers all sizes and phases of project delivery, from Small to Major and from Concept through to Construction and his career has focused on the delivery of roads and highways. Gerhard is experienced in bringing quality technical work that is fit for purpose and compliant to the relevant standards and legislative requirements. Gerhard also has the professional on-site experience and progressive experience in project management. Gerhard obtained his PMP qualification in 2019 from the Project Management Institute to become an internationally certified Professional Project Manager and has also been accredited by Aurecon internally as a Major Projects Project Manager. This accreditation can only be acquired through demonstrated evidence of having managed large projects successfully. Having completed numerous economic evaluations of projects either through using HDM4 software or from first principles, Gerhard has a good appreciation and understanding of the economic impact of different design options, be it from direct relatable cost comparison or through the calculation of exogenous benefits. His highway construction, supervision, contract management and design background underpin his good all-round project management experience base linked to an enhanced awareness of the importance of constructability and the cost implications of design decisions. He has worked on projects in countries such as Australia, South Africa, Mozambique, Malawi, Qatar, Tanzania, Sudan, Angola and the United Arab Emirates and has developed good working relationships with peers and clients throughout the years. Gerhard is passionate about teamwork, quality, road safety and the environment.
