Currently, German serves as World Learning’s Senior TESOL Outreach and Development Manager where he conducts outreach efforts to increase partnerships for and brand recognition of World Learning and the School of International Training’s (SIT) TESOL work around the world. In this role, he also manages the operations of SIT’s TESOL Certificate Course and is responsible for recruiting candidates through advertising and special promotional events and serves as the leader for World Learning’s TESOL practice area. He also manages various teacher education programs such as the U.S. Department of State funded Myanmar English Language Program and the Teaching Assistant Certificate in Guatemala. At World Learning, Mr. Gomez has worked with foreign universities to develop online, blended, and face-to-face training programs and curricula for pre- and in-service teachers, particularly in underserved regions and populations.

German also served as the Academic Director at the Uniting Cultures and Communications (UCC) Center in Daegu, South Korea. In this position, he was responsible for managing teacher trainer teams and their delivery of training curriculum for in-service teachers working for the MOE’s Offices of Education in the cities of Daegu, Ulsan, Busan, Daejeon, and Gyeong San. In this job, German also designed curricula aimed at helping South Korean English teachers to develop their language and teaching skills. German also served as the main point of contact between the organization and Academic Directors from exchange partner institutions in the UK, IH International and Oxford Language School. During his tenure at UCC, he also designed and delivered training for cohorts from Japan’s Hiroshima Office of Education.

As the Academic Director of Instituto Guatemalteco Americano (IGA) in Guatemala City, Mr. Gomez managed the institution’s Academic Unit, which was responsible for pre-service and in-service teacher training programs and curriculum development projects for the institute’s language learning programs reaching 350 teachers on staff and the institution’s 16,000 students across the country. This job also included managing and curriculum develop of English programs delivered by IGA as part of its social responsibility outreach programs working jointly with local government and private sector. During his tenure, he also worked as the IGA-World Learning-SIT TESOL Certificate Site Director in Guatemala City as a teacher trainer, overseeing academic aspects of the programs, and managing site operations. At IGA, German was also part of the organizing committee of the Annual National Teachers Conference, liaising with international presenters and gathering over 2000 teachers from the country and the region.
