Germán offers more than 30 years of experience in the US and internationally in various capacities in the financial services, management consulting and financial training industries. He started his career as a senior consultant and auditor at Deloitte & Touche for more than 5 years in their Uruguayan offices. After earning his MBA from Northwestern University in 1999, Germán joined JPMorgan Chase where he worked in the Latin America structured finance team for more than three years. Afterwards, he joined WestLB in New York where he worked as an Executive Director and group head of credit risk management for Latin America and for North America in Metals and Mining, Infrastructure and Hospitality financing. He developed his passion for teaching very early in his professional career at age 23 with an Assistant Professorship in the Accounting Department at his alma matter at the Universidad de la República in Uruguay. In 2009, he was invited to teach at the Academy of Business Leadership’s Summer Business Institute at the CSULA campus where he taught low income- high potential students in East Los Angeles a variety of business topics. He also taught capital markets at the Building Outstanding Leadership program at the Academy’s headquarters in Los Angeles. After working as an instructor for AMT Training for four years (2011 to 2015), Germán joined Cleary Gottlieb (International law-firm) as Director of Learning and Development (2015 to 2017) where he focused on teaching Accounting, Modeling, Corporate Finance and Valuation, Credit and M&A analysis for in-house lawyers, administrative staff and clients worldwide. He also supported the firm’s lawyers in live/advisory deals in the areas of data analysis, accounting and valuation. In 2014, Mr. Nande was invited to author a TED lesson in the area of financial math. He was also a professional actor, member of the Screen Actors Guild, AFTRA, and the Actors' Equity Association. In 2019, he founded Financial Training for All (FTFA), with the objective of creating highly engaging and effective customized training in Excel, accounting, forecasting, valuation and more — for finance and non-finance professionals. In addition to his MBA from Kellogg, Germán holds a B.S. in Accounting from the Universidad de la República in Uruguay. He is a native Spanish speaker and proficient in Portuguese.
