About Me: A literary geek (of sorts) who adores delving into (almost) any realm available to explore, I was in Communications before falling in love with Education after a mid-career year-long stint. As cliché as that sounds, it's true. Classes: I am curious about the backgrounds learners come and are defined by to a fault, as it serves as the basis of my classes. I work with them, gently challenging the flow as it comes, yet tackling obstacles they face head on. I think the intimacy of tutoring individuals or smaller classes allows for this and it's really special. Philosophy (If I could call it that): Achieving a comfortable relationship with English is paramount. I tend to be skill-centric than goal oriented, and that approach has almost always led to goals actually being met - a pleasant surprise to me too :) Method:I like tailoring and curating materials inspired by the life and needs of the learner so as to not overwhelm, but build curiosity with ease. If I work with standardized materials, I'll be sure to adapt them as best as I can. Engagement throughout is key for me!
