As Tech Lead of the new Metrics Platform team, I focused on delivering an internal analytics platform that enables Twitter's product builders to measure what's important. Our metrics help teams make data-driven decisions and improve the performance and health of Twitter's products and features.

As a backend engineer on the Video Data Infrastructure team, my focus has been on rearchitecting Twitter's high-scale media engagement aggregation analytics pipeline. The project includes:• Employing Google Cloud Platform managed services including Dataflow for distributed compute and BigQuery and Bigtable databases for storing and serving results• Migrating from lambda to kappa architecture to more quickly serve accurate analytics to customers while saving costs• Managing infrastructure as code with Terraform to reduce errors in GCP resource management• Guiding high level design to ensure high standards around privacy and protection of data, observability, reliability, and securityBeyond the project work of a software developer, I take on other roles at Twitter, including:• TwitterU Boston ambassador working on enriching Twitter's learning community, especially in the Boston office• Instructor for the "How Twitter Works" class to help onboard technical new hires at Twitter• Terraform Working Group member providing feedback on Twitter's Infrastructure as Code strategy

As a senior software engineer on the Analytics team, I:• Gave internal developers, implementation specialists, and customers visibility into the 128T product operations and the traffic it routes by contributing to the design and implementation of our metrics and events monitoring backend• Held the modern C++ code base to high design standards with specification and code reviews• Lead in the appropriate use and data modeling of NoSQL databases in our product like Apache Cassandra and InfluxDB

Engineer for the Analytics and Systems teams focused on developing simple yet powerful statistics and analytics backend services using cutting edge technologies

C++ coder for the DocumentsToGo Engine team in support of expanding mobile office capabilities on BlackBerry10 and Android.• Introduced thorough support for Microsoft's .doc binary format as the primary contributor for the format as part of the multi-year WordToGo Overhaul project, which involved following Microsoft's specifications; adding formatting, text editing, and saving features; and code reviewing .docx (XML format) implementation• Supported compliance requirements by researching, designing, and implementing the backend accessibility features for the visually impaired in the SlideshowToGo and WordToGo products• Improved stability of the WordToGo product by addressing all backend bugs while serving in the role of Code Maintainer• Created a common library module for the native .doc, .ppt, and .xls formats to use for encrypting and decrypting password protected files

Seasonal software engineer and analyst supporting meso- and grain-scale high explosive detonation simulation. Leveraged US Army High Performance Computing resources as well as the ALE3D DoE finite element code. Collaborated on projects focused on numerical methods, modeling, and analysis with ARDEC members of the Institute for Multiscale Reactive Modeling.

Led and contributed to academic and experiential programming for the Global Residential College and Residential College program as a whole. Specifically planned trips to the UN in New York City and State Department in Washington DC, established an inter-class alumni buddy program, and coordinated special housing, among other activities and responsibilities.
