I am a lawyer practicing primarily in the area of family law.In March 2012 I formed the Evans Family Law Corporation which has become Evans Pollock Family Law effective February 2024.. We are currently eight lawyers and a student, all focussing our practices in family law. Our firm is committed to helping families achieve fair and dignified solutions. We provide highly personal service to families at a time when they most need it.I am also committed to the use of collaborative family law in helping families achieve resolution. I am one of the founding members of collaborative family law in Manitoba and a former Director of Collaborative Practice Manitoba. I am also a member of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals. In the approximately 20 years that I have been practicing collaborative family law, I have assisted hundreds of families achieve dignified resolutions.I am a trained arbitrator, mediator and parenting coordinator with a growing mediation and arbitration practice. In 2020 I formed Evans Mediation & Arbitration to provide family mediation and arbitrations. I am a member of FAMLI, the ADR Institute of Manitoba and the ADR Institute of Canada.I was appointed Queen’s Counsel (now King’s Counsel) in 2022.I taught the Clinical Family Law course at the Faculty of Law, the University of Manitoba for thirteen years and was recognized as a Jurist of the Faculty of Law at Robson Hall in 2022. I also received the Dean’s Award of Distinction for Teaching in 2019. I am a frequent speaker at the Faculty of Law, the Manitoba Bar Association and the Law Society of Manitoba on family law matters.I have been annually named to the Canada's List of Best Lawyers in the area of Family Law and Family Law Mediation since 2015. I was named the Best Lawyers List Family Lawyer of the Year for Winnipeg in 2023, 2020, 2018 and 2016. I have also been listed as a Lexpert Leading Lawyer since 2018.Specialties: Collaborative family law, cohabitation and prenuptial agreements, family law mediation and arbitration, property division, guardianship, and adoptions.I am fluent in American Sign Language and received the Association of Visual Language Interpreters of Canada's highest recognition, the Edward C. Bealer Memorial Award of Merit in 2002.Music in one of my passions. My band, Say Uncle!, has released two CDs and I have a solo CD The Whole released in 2021. I performed a one-man show, Scattered Seeds, at the 2022 Winnipeg Fringe Festival. I am currently in a band called The Inheritors.
