Technical Contribution:  Administration Activities:  Production Support of Oracle 10g/11g node RAC  Production Support of Oracle 10g/11g database on VERITAS cluster  Administration of RAC Database instances.  Administration of VERITAS cluster i.e. Online/Offline, freeze/unfreeze, critical/non-critical resource group.  Administration and monitoring on ASM instances.  Monitoring Database using Grid Control.  Implementation and Maintenance of Oracle 10g Data Guard.  Installation/ Upgrades:  Installing Database Server software for production and non-production servers.  Creation of Database, table spaces & schemas.  Oracle upgrades from 8i/ 9i / 10g and 11g  Applying Oracle Patches from MetaLink as per client requirements.  Configuration and Development Activities: Creation and configuration of development databases as well as production servers.  Giving database support to programmers/QA in developing and testing the application.  Configuration of database Server for performance & database storage.  Designing of database & log storage for performance.  Reviewing SQL and PL/SQL developed by developers for performance issues and best practices  Maintenance Activities Extensively automated daily monitoring tasks and maintenance activities for test/dev as well as production servers through shell/Perl scripts.  Maintaining dev, testing & QA databases in sync  Regular Database backups through export/import utilities scheduled via scripts.  Monitoring the table space and log space usage.  Support during production deployments.  Implementing audits on database objects as per client requirements. User maintenance and database security by creating and granting roles and privileges  Interfacing with Oracle technical teams for upgrades, latest version and utilities, SR and patches.
