Tarbela 5th Extension Hydropower Project is funded by International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB). The project aims to add 3 new generating units of 510 MW each, for a total additional capacity of 1530 MW. Major assignments performed are as Director are as under: • Administered Electro-Mechanical ( E&M) Contract • Reviewed Bid Evaluation Report of E & M and Civil Works• Reviewed Prequalification (PQ) Documents for E& M as well as Civil Works Contracts• Reviewed PQ Evaluation Reports of E& M and Civil Works Contracts• Reviewed Bidding documents of the Project ( In accordance with World Bank procurement guidelines and Standard Bidding Document)• Managed all the correspondence with World Bank, Consultant and other stakeholders relating to E & M Works of the Project

Tarbela 5th Extension Hydropower Project is located on existing Tunnel 5 of Tarbela Dam Project. Project is funded by International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB). The project aims to add 3 new generating units of 510 MW each, for a total additional capacity of 1530 MW.Major assignments performed are as under:• Shortlisted Consulting firms as per World Bank guidelines • Prepared Terms of Reference (TOR) & Request for Proposals • Evaluated Consultant’s Proposals• Negotiated and successfully finalized consultancy Contract.• Managed all the correspondence with World Bank , Consultant and relevant government stakeholders.

At Central Contracts Cell of WAPDA performed following Services:• Reviewed and vetted Pre-qualification Documents, Bidding Documents and Bid Evaluation Reports concerning Electrical & Mechanical works of following major projects: o Tarbela 4th Extension HPP (3 X 470 MW = 1,410 MW) o Dasu HPP (6 X 360 MW = 2,160 MW) o Upgradation & Refurbishment of Mangla HPP (10 X 130 MW = 1,300 MW) o Golen Gol Hydropower Project (3 X 36 MW = 108 MW) • Reviewed Contractor’s Claims and Extension of Time cases • Reviewed Bidding Documents and Bid Evaluation Reports of procurement of Plant for existing hydel power stations of WAPDA ( Existing Power Stations include: Tarbela 3478MW, Ghazi Barotha 1450 MW, Mangla 1000, Warsak 243 MW, Chashma 184 , Allai Khwar HPP 121, Duber Khwar HPP130 , Khan Khwar 72 MW , Jinnah HPP 96 and small hydel power stations.• Standardized the Procurement Process of all the existing hydel power stations of WAPDA• Trained and mentored all field formations of WAPDA, on contract procurement and management.• Participated in negotiations with international contractor and consultants, for finalization of procurement of contracts for WAPDA.

Ghazi Barotha Hydropower Project was commissioned in 2003 having capacity 5x290MW= 1450 MW. Details of major assignments/works performed are as under:• Monitored erection, testing and commissioning activities in compliance with Contract provisions.• Performed operation, maintenance and load dispatch.
