Gianluca Bernardini, a graduate in Painting from the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna, has always harbored a deep passion for Art, Comics, and Painting. A left-handed artist, a devoted Buddhist, and an admirer of diverse cultures, Gianluca’s journey took a pivotal turn when he moved to Berlin right after completing his studies—a city he cherished until departing on the eve of the Berlin Wall's fall in 1989.Upon returning to Italy, he immersed himself in the restoration and preservation of frescoes while pursuing a career as a full-time artist and cartoonist. The arrival of the first Macintosh computers in the early 90s sparked his interest in digital graphics, particularly in the realm of nightlife, where he quickly became a prominent figure in the national clubbing communication scene.Professional JourneyIn the 1990s, Gianluca joined Studio A.G.O. s.r.l. as an Art Director, where he led various projects for fashion brands and the entertainment industry. In 1999, he co-founded Latveria Design Studio, assuming the role of President and Art Director. Latveria has since been dedicated to strategic communication and design, working primarily with clients in the textile and fashion sectors. The studio’s expertise spans art direction, graphic design, communication strategy, multimedia platforms, and web design.Since 2006, Gianluca has taught Publishing for Fashion Design at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Bologna. In 2010, he embraced methodologies of Design Thinking and Design Management as a partner of the Design Management Center (DMC), where he explored innovative design tools for managing transformation within both private and public organizations.With insights from Massimiliano Geraci, Gianluca expanded his interests to include neuromarketing and behavioral sciences applied to design. He has also been delving into motion graphics and digital animation techniques for content creation, as well as exploring the emerging landscape of AI-generated images, leveraging these cutting-edge technologies to expand his creative endeavors, applying these skills also to freelance consultancy, where he collaborates with clients to innovate and refine their visual communication strategiesCurrently, Gianluca serves as a Professor of Fashion Design at ABAPA (Accademia di Belle Arti di Palermo) and as a Contract Professor at ABAROMA (Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma), where he continues to inspire and mentor the next generation of creatives.
