Associate Professor in Public Health with a strong background in scientific research, I am now mostly focused on helping companies in the food industry improve their products, brand, and presence in the industry. As a trained biologist with a specialization in nutrition, I spent 15 years researching public health and nutritional epidemiology to understanding the problems connected to unhealthy diets. I have also worked with the Choices Programme, which has set criteria for the reformulation of food products to have a better impact on consumers’ health. I believe the primary challenge for many food companies is having an effective communication. While us scientists can be great at finding and reading the numbers behind the data, sometimes it can be a challenge to communicate the deeper meaning. Luckily, I can do both, which is the purpose of The Food Scientist.
