I worked as an regular student employee (RSE) for a large portion of my IT career. This job involved everything that happens on a client end machine at Olympic College. It involved hardware, software, network, web and media equipment troubleshooting. Software installs and updates, remote assistance, hardware replacement, imaging, low levels of powershell scripting, and information assurance of user-end data. I was eventually promoted to an IT Tech 2 and worked as the dedicated new-equipment processing tech for several months. My responsibilities were to take new machines for professors and work with them throughout the replacement process ensuring their new machine had all of their data and settings as close to their old machines as possible. I worked with AD, SCCM, Group Policy, and troubleshooting the various problems that arose in the replacement process.
