Library Director
CurrentThe Library Director is the Chief Executive Officer of the Library and is responsible for the strategic planning, organization and direction of Library operations established by the Library Board of Trustees. The Director ensures the effective, efficient delivery of library services responsive to the needs of Kitsap County residents and consistent with the mission and objectives of the Kitsap Regional Library. The Director is employed by and reports to the Library Board of Trustees, recommends policies to the Board, and implements them on the Boards behalf. The Director supervises the Library’s senior management team.Primary Functions of Library Director Office:• Directs the Library’s short and long-range strategic goals• Guides and directs staff on mission, goals, strategic objectives, and standards of service,continually evaluating results and changes as needed• Maintains effective, consistent multi-channel communication with staff, public and communitypartner/stakeholder groups• Directs and monitors the work of leadership team members providing strategic leadership in theareas of finance, labor relations and collective bargaining, communications, public services anddiversity, equity, and inclusion• Institutes and maintains relationships with all community stakeholder groups, public officials,Friends groups and building owners• Fosters sound relationships between Board of Trustees and all stakeholder groups• Attends and actively participates in monthly Board of Trustee meetings, including monthlyboard committee meetings• Participates in individual and institutional fundraising activities and serves as an ex-officiomember of the Kitsap Regional Library Foundation Board of Directors
