I am the founder and leader of Giant Steps Consultancy, with nearly two decades of experience in fundraising, focused on creating long-term growth strategies for charities. As a former Director until the end of 2023, I have a deep understanding of the current fundraising landscape and the challenges non-profits face today.I’m actively involved in mentoring, delivering strategy work, supporting significant major philanthropy appeals, and leading fundraising programme appeals. My work also extends to providing leadership training and coaching, helping to build high-performing teams and develop future leaders in the sector.My approach blends both tactical and strategic elements, driving measurable results through strong donor relationships, in-depth analysis, and practical insights. I am dedicated to fostering a positive and productive organisational culture, ensuring that teams are equipped to deliver long-term success.I currently work with leading organisations such as The Children’s Society, Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH), Princess Alice Hospice, and many others, helping them achieve sustainable growth and maximise their impact.

While at Depaul UK I was lucky enough to lead a team of 23 people who developed a new structure, introduced and stabilised new funding streams, instigated innovative new ways of working, brought a greater understanding of digital, insight and audience to our work and created a new transformational 6 year strategy.

I work with a team of talented, passionate and determined relationship managers to create bespoke opportunities and events for individuals, companies and trusts to give their support to Battersea Dogs & Cats Home. We then help each and every one of those supporters to see how they are helping Battersea transform how we support the most vulnerable animals who are suffering through no fault of their own.In my time at Battersea, we have developed a smart, well structured and motivated team which has grown it's income by 350% in under 4 years to ensure that our animals get the support they desperately need. A day doesn't go by when I am not proud of what we have achieved and that I don't get excited about what can be achieved for the future for our animals.

We are a small independent charity that is committed to reducing harm from alcohol-related problems. We work throughout England and Wales to help people understand the dangers of drinking too much and to fight for varied and effective treatment services for the people who need it. Our small team works incredibly hard to help reduce alcohol-related harm in communities nationwide. We also campaign at a national level to try and make a difference to the lives of people who have been affected by alcohol.

Worked to build a new business team which created long lasting, mutually beneficial partnerships with individuals and their businesses to help support the essential work of Age UK.I also worked across the organisation to build strong cases for support which would be directly funded by the support of our corporate partners.Achievements of team: Partnerships developed with companies such as Sony Music, DHL, Barclays, Churchill Retirement, Bupa, Google and Williams Lea.We have also been in the final stages of selection processes for companies like Credit Suisse, Santander, Morrisons, The Garden Centre Group, Royal Mail and several more.

Giving guidance on fundraising, particularly around Corporate, Major Donor and Event engagement.Achievements:- won first local authority funding ever won by the charity.

Overview of the last two years- Byte Night recruited over 100 new board members across the UK- Added 3 new venues, taking the event to 7 venues across the UK.- Raised £1.7 million with over 1800 people sleeping out so that young people don't have to. - 75% income growth in two years, with predicted 120% income growth in three years - £1.6 million in pro bono supportByte Night 2012- Byte Night 2012 recruited over 40 new board members across the UK, had over 1000 sleepers and raised over £900,000.- Byte Night has also now started events in Belfast, the North West and Birmingham. - Byte Night also had £1.3 million worth of probono Marketing and PR coverageByte Night 2011- Byte Night in 2011 had over 800 sleepers and raised £750,000, an increase of £180,000 on the previous year.- Marketing coverage throughout the UK, including over £200,000 worth of coverage in all the main Network Rail railway stations.
