CurrentRole includes:► Delivery of professional and artistic development programs► Festival programming – 500+ shows in 2023, includes venue programming, panel discussions, national tour, and other programs► Managing Festival Awards program► Team leadership► Close collaboration with marketing on branding and audience acquisition► Special event planning and activations – e.g. outside radio broadcasts► Stakeholder liaison – executives, artists, agents, sponsors, ticket agencies, and others► Government project funding ► Talent scouting, liaison, and negotiation – locally and overseas, includes working with artist’s agents/managers► Liaising with technical and production teams for event production► Risk management planning► Compliance with OH&S protocolsHighlights:● Growing and diversifying Melbourne International Comedy Festival audiences ● Achieving funding from DFAT and Creative Victoria to tour artists overseas● Programming and Tour Managing the Comedy Festival Roadshow, the largest annual touring network in Australia – with 70+ venues in every state and territory● SE Asian and Indian engagement program, forging strong ongoing partnerships in India, Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia● Touring annually overseas, both showcasing Australian talent and scouting for local talent to tour back to Australia ● Developing a metropolitan Melbourne pre-Festival touring program, Neighbourhood Sessions● Casting and producing the prestigious annual national festival showcase of emerging Australian talent – the Comedy Zone, with several prestigious alums – e.g., Hannah Gadsby, Josh Thomas, Ronny Chieng, and Celia Pacquola, and others● Producing RAW Comedy - Australia’s most prestigious open mic competition attracting 1,000+ entrants annually, with venues and partners presenting heats and finals in every state and territory and the National Grand Final filmed for SBS Viceland during the annual festival in Melbourne
