As senior vice president and general manager for Oscilloquartz, an ADVA Optical Networking Company, I am committed to supporting our telecom, utilities (power) and financial industry customers in their efforts to ensure quality of service (QoS) in carrier-class network environments. QoS can only be guaranteed when networks are perfectly synchronized. As network operators adopt new technologies such as LTE-Advanced and 5G and face new service paradigms like Internet of Things and the connecting of everything, they need solutions that fit their businesses, assure delivery of their services and synchronize their networks perfectly. Since our founding in 1949 in the heart of Europe’s traditional watchmaking region (sync valley) where we still work, Oscilloquartz has been a time and frequency synchronization pioneer for generations. We design, manufacture and deploy end-to-end synchronization systems that ensure delivery and assurance of highly precise timing information. From legacy SONET/SDH to highly accurate frequency-and-phase solutions for packet-based networks we were the first to address service delivery and assurance with synchronization. During my more than 30 years as a telecom industry executive, consultant and company founder I have watched major technology advances dramatically alter the business of networking and I am excited about what’s ahead. The Internet of Things, LTE-Advance and 5G are just a few of the disruptors that we are gearing up to support. My job is to ensure that Oscilloquartz leads for generations to come by designing synchronization solutions that support new networking technologies and service paradigms for the network operators who help us connect, communicate, create and captivate.
