Construction of 34MW Solar PV Plant, 14MW Battery Energy Storage System( BESS) & and 33kv Transmission Line for Kinross Gold Corporation at Tasiast Mine, Mauritania.

Construction of 40MW Kesses 1 Solar PV Plant, 33KV/220KV Substation and evacuation line.Periodically consulted social and labor authorities on project’s social, workforce and community issues.Provided vital link with all subcontractors in relation to man power used at site to guarantee their compliance with local social regulation and Voltalia’s social management plans.Conducted due diligence process to ensure all subcontractors are in compliance with statutory labor requirements such as deduction and remittance of social security, workers insurance and medical schemes.Provided on monthly basis live data base where key social performance indicators (KPISs) was tracked and monitored.Reported to my direct manager and Project Manager the overall status (audit, all measures that are being used, non-conformities, etc.)Organized, engaged and documented all project stakeholder’s meetings on periodic basis as per the client’s stakeholder engagement plan.Provided a critical support to grievance redress mechanism both for workers and the local community.Spearheaded in collaboration with the client’s Social Project Manager a community investment program as part of project’s Corporate Social Responsibility.In coordination with the HSE Manager, I verified that all social measures required were implemented on site, developed and periodically reviewed social policies, procedures and management plans.Conducted trainings to workers, local community, subcontractors and new employees on the project’s social requirements, procedures, local regulations and international standards( IFC PS)Managed communication and dissemination of project-related information to interested and affected stakeholders.

Consulted as an Environmental & and Social advisor for a Consortium of 3 International firms tasked with construction supervision and design review for the Mombasa-Nairobi-Naivasha Standard Gauge Railway Project on behalf of Kenya Railways.My key responsibility was ensuring the project’s compliance with the client’s Environmental, Health, safety and social management plans as well as lender’s requirements. Key duty stations were Nairobi SGR Terminus, Nairobi ICD Port and its Access Roads, Nairobi National Park Super Bridge and Ngong Railway Tunnel.My key accomplishments are; Delivery of Nairobi National Park Super Bridge with zero LTI nor any human-wildlife conflict. Successful holing through of 4.5km Ngong Railway Tunnel with zero fatality. Restoration of the park’s degraded habitat disturbed during construction of 6.5km viaduct across the park. Actively took part in the project’s CSR activities such as the Upgrading of facilities at RTI, construction and equipping of new school library in Embulbul Primary, water project for Kimuka Community, and rehabilitation of access roads along the project routes. Implemented an effective grievance redress mechanism to proactively address the project’s stakeholders’ complaints, concerns, suggestions, and requests. Provided assistance in liaising between the EPC Contractor and the project stakeholders such as government agencies, labor authorities, county government, security, local NGOs, local community etc.

Participation and enumeration of PAPs for the Naivasha ICD - Longonot MGR Rail link.Demographic census of each affected household in terms of social classification, education, dependancy, vulnerability $ occupation. Inventory of affected household structures, trees, crops, cultural assetsAssisting in organizing and coordinating stakeholder engagement meetings among PAPs, local administration, community committees, Women Groups etc. Communication to PAPs regarding necessary project information and procedures /process of land acquisition by NLC.
