Security Life specialized primarily in the ancillary benefits market, providing dental and vision insurance products and services to consumers and employer groups. In close relationships with its distribution network of direct brokers, general agencies and strategic partners, Security Life concentrated in individual insurance and small- to mid-size employer group business. Security Life also offered group Life, Short Term and Long Term Disability. Security Life's products were available to market in 50 states (in conjunction with Security Heath Insurance Company of America, New York, Inc.). Founded in 1956 and headquartered in Minnetonka, MN, the company also had an office in Lancaster, PA.As the Vice President of Underwriting, I managed a profitable $80 million multi-product block through various distribution models. I consistently built strong relationships with executive and management teams, staff, sales and strategic partners.

After promotion to Assistant Vice President, Underwriting, I successfully incorporated the management of a $60 million block of business, to the existing $20 million block I was already managing. This included both Group and Individual employee benefits products through various distribution models. I was highly involved in building employee morale and improving our company culture, while co-managing a secondary location in Lancaster with 60 employees.
