As the one person payroll accountant and HR department, I handle a wide variety of important, time sensitive, confidential and vital duties at Rio Marine, Inc. I process the biweekly payroll for 100+ employees over 8 branch locations spanning 3 states. I process all new hires as well as terminations to include health, dental and life insurance coverage, background checks and physical screenings, entry into both internal and external data systems and any other employee related problems or concerns. After completing the actual payroll process, I enter the payroll journal entries. I also enter invoices for all payments to HR or payroll related vendors. Additionally, I am the only non-officer member of the company's Safety Committee preparing and distributing safety meeting materials, forms, acknowledgment sheets and handling all workman's compensation due to injury cases. I am the liaison between the company officers and all payroll, HR and insurance issues including employee requests or concerns.

As the accountant at Collaborative for Children I processed all vendor invoices for payment and cut the weekly check batches. This included assignment and tracking of PO numbers, manager approvals and all related backup materials. I also processed the biweekly payroll for 50+ employees and entered all payroll related journal entries. I facilitated and recorded the organization's Finance Committee meetings where board members and the CFO discussed the future and direction of the organization. I also prepared and managed the information flow each year for the annual budget and entered all budget numbers in the accounting system (QuickBooks). Finally, I was the driving force and project manager behind moving the organization from an outdated and underutilized payroll system to a new and highly useful system which integrated time entry, payroll and reporting in one program.

Basic office management to include, employee training, day-to-day phone and office duties as well as overall management of the "Do the Write Thing" youth anti-violence program.
