Vistage Chair and Executive SherpaGuiding CEOs and Key Executives to the summit of their professional and personal lives.I’m an executive coach, business advisor and CPA with deep experience guiding CEO’s/business owners and Key Executives to higher levels of business and personal performance. As a Vistage Chair since 1999, I lead four advisory boards comprised of owners and executives. As President of McDevitt Services, Inc., I provide business coaching to scores of business owners/executives challenging them to improve their leadership, achieve higher levels of effectiveness, and to enhance their lives and the lives of those they touch.Shaping my coaching practice is my experience summiting Mt. Kilimanjaro, Machu Picchu and Mt. Everest base camp, incredibly challenging and unique accomplishments. It is these journeys that formed my belief that great leadership is measured by the accomplishments of their followers, not the leader, and that the value of the group/team is greater than the sum of the parts. On these summits, I witnessed the power of climbers watching out for each other, coaching each other, challenging assumptions, overcoming fears and ultimately relishing in their accomplishment – made possible by the thoughtful, competent and watchful guidance of the Sherpa. I coach others to successfully summit difficult mountains, just as I coach members in my Vistage board, other boards, and individual CEO’s and Key executives to dissect business issues, engage in difficult conversations and always focus on the summit. There’s power in shared experience, value in collective knowledge and importance in introspection. I lead provocative discussions that challenge assumptions, engage in considering alternative options and hold executives accountable for their commitments. I’m an entrepreneur, achiever, and life-long learner at heart. I have a deep sense of dedication and ownership toward things I commit to, as well as the ability to “connect the dots” and offer others perspective and guidance in pressing situations. I’m intentional about where I spend my time, and why. My interest in continuing to engage with new executives stems from two things. First, my personal mission is to challenge executives to improve their leadership, achieve higher levels of effectiveness, and to enhance their lives and the lives of those they touch. The second is “fit”. Can I execute my mission effectively and bring value to the individual/group that it needs.
