Virginia (Ginny) Taylor is a higher education consultant with a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration and over 40 years’ experience, including vice president, dean, director, coordinator, counselor, and instructor. Ginny has extensive experience in academic, student and enrollment services and significant experience in program and service development and implementation. Known as a collaborative leader, Ginny is qualified to develop and facilitate programming in the areas of college access, equity, diversity, and inclusion. The program is designed for early and mid-career professionals who are seeking educational preparation for careers in academic, student services or administrative areas.Campus Living ELP 450: Special Topics: Preparation for Paraprofessional LeadershipWorked as part of a team to develop and offer a 400-level course designed to provide staff development for Campus Living Academic Assistants, Community Assistants and Resident Assistants. Implementation of this course has resulted in head count enrollment of 192 students (Fall 2020/ 75 students, Spring 2020/12 students and Fall 2019/105 students). Campus Living Professional Development SeminarCreated and offered a professional development seminar series for senior staff members. The topical areas included:Session 1: Student success, wellness, resilience, coaching, and motivational interviewingSession 2: Diversity, inclusion, multiculturalism, and cultural competenciesSession 3: Student development and transitionsCampus Living Professional Staff Professional Development Proposal/ImplementationSubmitted a proposal for the ELP department to provide ‘classroom’ training in the areas of student development and pedagogy to the Campus Living professional staff team. ELP Student Development Theory Digital Badge/Academy ProposalProposed the implementation of an ELP Student Development Theory Digital Badge designed as a teaching preparatory experience for Campus Living staff assigned to teach ELP 450 (Special Topics: Preparation for Paraprofessional Leadership). The proposed badge has 2 primary components: 8 hours of FTF instruction and 4 hours of reflection. Each instructor would also participate in a minimum of one classroom observation.
