Since May 2007, I got to work as a IT consultant.I was involved in iOS application development, here is the link to my apps available on the Apple Store(http://igioel.com/app)I also worked with the Schneider Electric company, designing an application for sale of robotic systems (axes, motors and gearboxes).I designed a database for component storage and implemented complex formulas for calculating the sizing of the robotic system, generating their type-codes, and pricing.(project slides: http://igioel.com/app/SE/) I also created an application for the Android platform (http://igioel.com/app/android/HitchCalendar) Other of my projects:Server configuration and iOS app development for home automation - server configuration to receive commands from the iPhone and send them to the Raspberry pi. Implementation iOS app for communication with the server (sending commands for example for switching on the light and receiving the response from the server itself, temperature control etc). iOS app for DAE localisation - building of an iOS app for the localisation of DAEs distributed over the territory, with update functions, phone calls, etc. Building of a web app to coordinate some car rental activities - development of a web app to coordinate the cars available, delivered, returned and washed (link to the demo: http://igioel.com/db/Autonoleggio) Building of a calendar for the calculation of work shifts - development of a calendar (Hitch Calendar) for the calculation of work shifts with the addition of holidays. During my Ph.D. I was involved in several European community projects and author of many educational publications presented in international conferences: - PALOMA IST2001-33073 *ITITO - EURON - HUMAN IST2001-33483 - MOVEMENT ISTMOV04EG - ROBOTCUB IST004370 - MOVEMENT ITTOYO03PD In particular I was involved, as team leader, on a project with the TOYOTA MOTOR ENGINEERING & MANUFACTURING EUROPEThe objective of ExPer project was to achieve efficient visuo-motor coordination in real- world environment by applying the Expected Perception (EP) based strategy. The anthropomorphic robotic system used was very complex to not allow a classical solution.The goal was achieved by using a set of neural networks that, through a training phase, learned the complex functions needed to solve the various tasks. To implement this project several modules have been implemented, in particular: The expected perception generator module and the Pre-shaping module realized using SANFIS (Self-Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System) networks, while the grasping module has been realized using GNG (Growing Neural Gas) neural networks with Grossberg's Outstar law. The same model was used before with several robotic manipulators (2D simulator - with 3 dof, the Dexter anthropomorphic robotic arm - with 8 dof and with the PUMA560 manipulator - with 6 dof), and subsequently for the control of a robotic head having 7 dof.In addiction, I held some lessons on Machine Learning during the course of robotics perception at the University of Pisa​ and a seminary at the University of Genova​.
