• Responsible for all aspects of unclaimed property. Coordinate and support the initiatives related to claims evaluation and processing in a timely manner.• Manage each claim within company guidelines by meeting department corporate goal and exceeding client’s expectations, and decides on submitted claims within approval limits.• Analyze all claim documentation and policy on contract wording and enforce company policy to confirm all claims are complete and have correct death benefit and a beneficiary for all proceeds.• Review all disbursements for accuracy listing beneficiary and reconcile paying amount to the submitted claim.• Communicate and collaborate with field and head office colleagues to provide the highest quality service level to customers.• Provide training to new claim team staff as required.• Adapt to changing regulatory requirements affecting claim practices and apply new approaches as they occur.• Communicate with claimants or their legal representatives as necessary on any claim updates until case is settled.• Comply with complex state legislative requirements and departmental procedures in terms of claims practices and report any fraudulent activities to appropriate sources.• Review incoming correspondents and distribute to proper department for further review.• Work independently to complete assignments.
