Junior Powertrain Design Lead

Riverside, California, United States

As Junior Design Lead at Cal Baptist Racing, I designed and manufactured parts to finish our teams' first car with a two-year development cycle. I put my TIG-Welding skills to the test throughout the year, manufacturing mounts and welding tabs onto the chassis. I was also able to pursue manufacturing and machining by becoming comfortable with the fusion 360 CAM environment. This year I primarily focused on machining on our CNC Lathe since no one on the team was comfortable turning parts on it. I am very excited to take my own and Cal Baptist Racings machining capabilities to the next level in the upcoming season.

Ergonomics Intern

Riverside, California, United States

During my second year on SAE I worked as a Eurogomics Intern of the Formula SAE team at California Baptist University, I learned more advanced design and testing techniques in SolidWorks such as Finite Element Analysis (FEA). I was also given the opportunity to design and build a mockup chassis that is used to determine the positioning of pedals, steering wheel, and seat angle of the car. Doing this in a mock-up form instead of in SolidWorks helps the team have a more comfortable vehicle for the driver. This project improved my skills and comfort level with tools at Bourns Laboratory and my CAD skills in SolidWorks.
