I am a freelance journalist. I write about what I think is important. I have written on a violence prevention organization in Chicago, recidivism and police torture in Chicago, health disparities between minorities in the US, UChicago college housing dynamics, the arts (poetry, books, paintings, music), and a couple of profiles. I am a regular feature and criticism writer for the Chicago arts and culture magazine, Newcity, where I mainly write for the Literature column.

I was the personal editorial and research assistant to the NYT Best-Selling Author Ted Fishman. I fronted research to build arguments for multiple different articles and created reports to be used as the basis for future articles and chapters. I delivered actionable analysis of multiple research areas on concrete and its social and environmental impact. I fact-checked articles and workshopped drafts with Ted and our editors, helping implement high-level edits.

As an instructor and general assistant, my duties ranged from creating and instructing a Physical Education and Health program for the children at the institution to devising and building a water filtering system for the facility to utilize during dry seasons.

I mainly conducted research and due diligence on our clients that went into white papers and company reports. Specifically, I created a UK Certification Training Deck for companies to be certified in DE&I and ESG standards and ran analysis on company demographic data that evidenced racial disparities between health outcomes.

I scraped data sets and cleaned excel sheets. I organized messy holistic datasets into separate files for our data analysts to uncover trends easier and transformed illegible JSON data mined from videos into clear, easy-to-read Excel files through Python.
