My introduction to Full-stack development came as a result of engaging in a hackathon where we were trying to come up with innovative solutions that could be used to provide means to reporting incidents that may occur in the public transport sector in Kenya especially around the Nairobi Metropolitan area. That solution went on to take first place and helped me secure more tasks where I was able to engage with clients intimately, helping them bring about solutions when they came to me with problems in the industry. This included rapid prototyping constantly taking input from the client while developing high quality prototypes before eventually digging into the implementations of the solutions into the website and/or mobile application together with the the server-side infrastructure to power these applications.WORK EXPERIENCEI have over the past three years worked with clients to help bring solutions to market in industries such as last mile delivery (KMT Logistics), tours and travel (SafariXperts.com and GPSafaris) and public transport (ByBussTrans).KMT LogisticsI aided in creating a solution that made it easier shippers to interact with carriers to help offer solutions for the last mile of delivery offering innovative solutions that linked these carriers with the shippers based on their proximity, rating and the type of vehicles in their fleet.Technologies used: - AdobeXD - used in the creation of high fidelity prototypes that were used to illustrate and give a visual feel of how all the processes would work before we got to the implementation of the actual applications. - React Native - this was used for the mobile applications that were developed for the carriers, shippers and the drivers who actually carried out the last mile delivery. - React - this was used to create the websites that were also a solution to shippers and carriers who their work setting did not allow for them to use mobile applications as their means of onboarding, tracking and carrying out payments for their loads and shipments. - NodeJS - this was used to create the server-side application that was the backbone of all the operations in KMT for both the website and the mobile applications.SafariXperts.comAs the sole developer to create an application that helped link potential clients with stays in partner hotels and other temporary stay providers based on the location and time of the stay and other specifics.
