About Giulia Mcpherson

Giulia is a management professional in the international development and humanitarian sector with a proven record of overseeing institutional operations; building and leading national teams; executing effective advocacy and community outreach campaigns; and forging strategic relationships with advocates, partners and donors. Prior to joining GCE-US, Giulia spent over 9 years at Jesuit Refugee Service/USA most recently as Vice President of Advocacy & Operations where she oversaw the planning and execution of JRS/USA's advocacy and outreach program and managed all JRS/USA internal operations for a team of over 45 U.S.-based staff. Giulia also spent over 10 years at CARE USA where she coordinated CARE’s national efforts to build and mobilize constituencies on behalf of U.S. policies that support the fight against global poverty. Giulia serves as Chair of the Board of Directors for Educate2Envision International, Chair of the Board of Directors for AMP Global Youth, Treasurer of the Board of Directors of American Jesuits International, Vice Chair and Governance Chair of the Board of Directors of Nourishing Bethesda, and is a former Commissioner on the Montgomery County (MD) Commission for Women. She received the 2022 Distinguished Alumna Award from her alma mater, the Academy of the Holy Cross, and was honored as a Top 20 in 2022 Advocacy Professional from the Advocacy Association and one of The Hill's Top Lobbyists in 2023.Giulia has a Bachelors degree in Political Science from Villanova University and a Masters in International Development Studies from The George Washington University.
