RESTENA Foundation is Luxembourg NREN (National Research and Education Network), it is also the national registry and a registrar for .lu domain names.As system engineer in the DNS-LU team, my key duties include guaranteeing the stable operations of .LU and to guide and implement technical evolutions in order to maintain a high-quality service.My other tasks include evaluation of new technologies, evolution of the registrar and registry services platform, following international developments including analysis and application of best practices or regulations, representation in technical fora at the European level.

HOTCITY is the largest Internet access provider by Wi-Fi in Luxembourg, available on 2000 indoor and outdoor access points in cities, airport, hospitals, banks, hotels and touristic places throughout the country.As technical manager for HOTCITY S.A., I had under my responsibility:- The design, implementation and exploitation of Wi-Fi networks, using Cisco and Extreme controller-based hardware. I hold a vendor-neutral recognized certification in Wi-Fi Design (C.W.D.P.) and Administration (C.W.N.A.) ;- The administration of a fully-redundant core Internet access network based on Cisco hardware, collecting Wi-Fi traffic from our points of presence and interconnected with main national providers (POST, RESTENA, Tango, Luxembourg Online) ;- The conception and realization of a virtual services platform, based on a set of free and open source software, including : * Customized instances of NginX: acting as an applicative firewalls and reverse proxies to protect our Wi-Fi landing page (captive portal) from illegitimate requests and determine configuration (Wi-Fi zone, language, format) handling around than 2 500 000 requests per day; * FreeRADIUS servers: authenticating Wi-Fi end-users from our captive portal (integration with ISG/iWAG services on Cisco core routers) or via 802.1X for secured public SSIDs ; * URL Filtering outbound proxy, based on Squid and SquidGuard, limiting HTTP access to certain webpages on some Wi-Fi zones, based on customer requests ; * DNS (bind9) and DHCP (isc-dhcp) for name resolution IP addresses management of the Wi-Fi customers ; * Monitoring, log centralization and visualization using a logstash/elasticsearch/kibana stack.The deployment, update and configuration processes for all those components is managed by Debian automated installation (preseeding), Ansible automation roles and Git code versionning, following current standards in DevOps techniques.

Thesis work "Social Network Analysis and application to Mobile Social Networks": design of a distributed algorithm for detection of densely and robustly connected communities of users over dynamic networks such as wireless ad hoc networks. Implementation of the proposed solution in a network simulator.Teaching assistant duties: practical labs and theoretic courses on middleware, network simulation, distributed systems and Python programming.

Design of a proprietary protocol stack for IP-based tactical communications over wireless ad hoc networks, with a focus on data-link (MAC) and transport layers.Integration/adaptation of standard or research-based methods for channel access, QoS management and clustering methods.Modeling and simulation of the designed waveform using a network simulator.
