Dundee Engine Plant, Dundee Michigan

Lead Manufacturing manager for the FCA 1.4L Engine Assembly. Team continues to improve overall quality and productivity as we expanded volume demands for the Fiat designed 1.4L Naturally Aspirated and Turbo Charged models. Dundee Engine Plant is the first plant in North America Engine Division to attain the Bronze Level recognition of the WCM Methodology & Audit process. The production Team Leaders and Team members worked closely with the Workplace Organization (WO) & Safety Pillar Leads in expanding the WCM methodology (Lean Manufacturing) into the 1.4L Engine Assembly process. The department played an integral part in Dec. 2014 audit for pre-Silver Award rating status.

Mack Avenue Engine Plant, Detroit Michigan

Mack 1 Operations Manager during plant transition for the new 2012 Pentastar Product Launch. Maintained quality, production and required budgetary performance as the 4.7L V-8 Engine model was phased out. Also, assigned as WCM Launch Coordinator for the plants. Role was to provide introductory training in WCM for employees.

Livonia Transmission Plant, Livonia Michigan

Production Team Manager for the machining and assembly of automatic transmissions for the largest volume production lines within the Ford vehicle offerings. Directed the production team with an annual production volume of 1.07 million units, using $1 million in material daily and a $400 million dollar annual budget, providing improvements to obtain a 7-10% year over year task.

Supplier Quality Improvement Manager – South Pacific Rim (2 year Foreign Service assignment). Provided the leadership in accelerating a then struggling Q1 improvement strategy with the Australian manufacturing / supplier community into an active participative process within 2 years. The Supplier Quality Improvement team assisted the suppliers and Ford Australia vehicle facilities in exceeding their quality and delivery goals. At end of the Foreign Service assignment was given an outstanding rating / exit interview with then President of Ford Australia, Jacque Nasser.

Livonia Transmission Plant, Livonia Mi

Developed and managed a cross functional launch team responsible for the introduction of Ford Motor Company’s new 4 speed transaxle for the then new Taurus / Sable vehicle launch. This included the development and implementation of a transformational quality operating system (aka DCP) that launched this transaxle transmission at world class quality levels. The launch was on schedule with quality and production targets exceeded. This launch established a new benchmark quality operating system for the Ford Motor Company.

Honored with the invitation to join Professor Arthur Swersey as a guest speaker with his MBA graduate class at Yale University School of Management, New Haven, CT (1995 & 1996). The presentation was directed at the practice and applications of team building and the team’s use of statistical improvement methods in an automotive machining environment.
