Utilising my skills as a retired senior investigating officer, having been responsible for the MPS Crime Academy and more recently as a PEQF lecturer at Brunel University, I am the Chief Commercial Officer for a start-up AI company (ACTR-AI.com) offering law enforcement solutions to improve performance and lower organisational risk.With a proven track record in managing the most serious, complex, and high-profile investigations, ranging from homicide cases to high-profile non-recent child abuse investigations that attracted significant political and media interest. I also utilise my communication and development skills in working with TV production companies, presenting cases to an international audience.Recently retired from the MPS, in my last role, I had responsibility for all detective training, including direct entry detective courses, detective specialisms, and the Senior Investigating Officers course. Throughout my extensive policing career, I have been passionate about professional service delivery, motivated to develop teams and individuals to be the best they can be, ensuring they are properly trained, mentored, and assessed to achieve the highest standards while withstanding significant scrutiny from internal and external partners.My transferable skills cover a range of disciplines, including training, coaching, assessing, risk management, relationship and stakeholder management, community engagement, and investigations. I have worked collaboratively with other local, national, and international law enforcement agencies and partner agencies in investigations, developing policies, and standard operating procedures. I have recently developed a range of digital delivery training courses in the current COVID-19 climate.I have undertaken the most serious and complex investigations in London as an SIO within the MPS' Homicide and Major Crime Command for over a decade, including a 3-year period as SIO on Operation Winter Key, the MPS' response to high-profile and institutionalized child sexual abuse. This included managing Operation Yewtree and Operation Fairbank (Westminster-linked allegations emanating from Tom Watson's questions in the Houses of Parliament). My role within Op Winter Key exposed me to significant work with both the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse and the IPCC (now IOPC), operating in a highly politically and sensitive arena.
