When I first arrived in Fort McMurray in 2008 I was situated in the truck shop at 63 North. We built 930E A/C Haul Trucks for Suncor, KMC Mining and North American customers. We also did major updates and rebuilds on older Komatsu 930E A/C and 830 D/C from Suncor and Syncrude operations. In the fall of 2011 I took a posting for a field run and repair job at the Suncor mine to do checks and repairs on their fleet of about 80 Komatsu trucks. In February of 2012 I took a transfer to the PRC open pit coal mine Tumbler Ridge, BC. Here I was responsible for their fleet of Komatsu 830E A/C, 730 D/C and 1500-5 and -7 haul trucks plus the Komatsu 5500, 4000 and 3000 excavators and shovels.

During my 10 years at the Canfor sawmill in Quesnel, BC I was first on week end maintenance doing scheduled repairs and installations then moved into a run and repair role during production. We did lots of upgrading as our mill was being totally rebuilt as the mill was producing. We were phasing out the Allen Bradley Slick 100, 500 and PLC 5 processors and installing the Allen Bradley RS logics 5000 controllers.
