After an almost 30 year career litigating a broad variety of cases, Mr. Barger is now a full-time mediator at ADR Services, Inc. As a mediator, he helps counsel and their clients reach resolution of the same type of cases he handled as an attorney. He was born in Northern California and moved to Southern California at a young age. He then attended the University of California, Davis, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Economics. He then earned his Juris Doctor Degree at Pepperdine University School of Law and was admitted to the State Bar of California, the United States District Court, and the California Supreme Court. He now mediates cases throughout California and the western United States on a full-time basis. He ultimately became a name partner at a respected litigation firm where he began as a law clerk. As an attorney, he regularly handled Construction, Professional Liability, including Legal Malpractice, Bodily Injury, Environmental, Toxic and Hazardous Substance Litigation, Commercial/Business Litigation, General Negligence, Employment, Complex, Multi-Party Litigation, Transportation and Habitability matters. Mr. Barger served as President of the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel in 2016. He remains a member of various bar associations. He also helped organize the original Mandatory Settlement Conference program in the Los Angeles Superior Court which utilized a plaintiff and defense attorney to jointly conduct settlement discussions. He also started the Annual Joint Litigation Conference with leaders from CAALA and ABOTA. He has had countless articles published in various legal journals and continues to be a featured speaker on a broad range of legal topics at legal seminars throughout the country. Mr. Barger has trial, arbitration, and mediation experience. He has the distinction of achieving the highest rating of “AV” by the prestigious national lawyer rating organization Martindale-Hubbell and throughout his career he has been regularly recognized as one of the best lawyers in his field. On a daily basis, he now utilizes his experience, including his knowledge of insurance issues, to help bring parties together to resolution by discussing the legal, factual, procedural and practical issues of each particular matter he mediates. .
