The role is responsible for the Business Analysis activities that support the shaping and prioritisation of outcomes that form the roadmap for large scale enterprise initiatives. The role also supports those activities that help define the Business Objectives that align to the wider corporate strategy, and development of business solutions, ensuring a balance between business requirements, strategic direction and drive to achieve value and velocity. The role is accountable for the business analysis, value mapping, journey mapping and/or continuous improvement approach and leadership of these activities, dealing with content rich problems of a technical, business, intellectual and academic nature, as well as being a custodian of intellectual property. The role helps bring the problems to life and provides analysis, and where relevant, architectural options to resolve.

This role required me to manage the operational aspects of the business analysis practice. Specifically, ensuring that effective portfolio planning, resourcing, service delivery, management information and service improvement controls are implemented and maintained. I delivered a practice strategy and driving the operational implementation of that strategy including any operational changes.Whilst undertaking this role I developed a service-oriented culture within analysis driving accountability for the delivery of high quality requirements following clear articulation of the business need.I demonstrated improvement in the practice performance, particularly in the areas of work product quality, productivity and risk management. I was accountable for practice area risk oversight, including implementation of appropriate governance controls, mitigation, risk acceptance and avoidance strategies.Accountable for managing serious analysis related issues, risks and escalations from the requirements manager and / or programme and project management teams.Controlled the engagement of resourcing, sourcing and recruitment for the practice. This is to include the on-boarding of daily rate contractor resources and supplier resources in an effective timeframe and in accordance with the needs of the transformation portfolio. Highlight was recruiting 100 permanent employees within 12 months reducing reliance on contract resources and leading to significant cost reduction.Deliver and maintain the practice training and accreditation strategy, ensuring that employees are appropriately skilled in accordance with the needs of the transformation portfolio. Developed a business case to secure funding of Circa. £500k for 3 years professional training for Business Analysis Practitioners.Highlights - Nominated and finalist for Nationwide Employee of the Year Award.Speaker at IIBA European BA Conference on Growing a BA Practice and Mentoring Programme.
